Banterra planted roots in Ridgway, Illinois nearly 50 years ago and since then, we have grown exponentially. With locations across six states and assets totaling more than three billion dollars, we have the opportunity to serve a large customer base. The growth does not stop there. Although our roots are planted heavily in Southern Illinois, with our corporate headquarters in Eldorado and an additional 25 locations throughout the area, we continue to expand to new markets. From donations and sponsorships to volunteer hours and charitable contributions, we are always looking for ways to pour into our regions. Not only does the majority of our Marketing budget go towards donating and sponsoring various events and organizations, but we also create a twelve-month annual charity plan to raise funds or supplies for non-profits. Additionally, there are multiple opportunities to volunteer at different community events. As one of the largest community banks in the nation, we pride ourselves in taking care of our communities.

Banterra is dedicated to our team members’ growth and development. As an extension of our Human Resources department, we have designated team members focused solely on learning and development. With that comes a renewed focus on building robust learning programs that can help enhance your knowledge across a variety of topics. Some of these include Career Track, which is a year-long program that helps develop leadership skills, Brand Ambassador Pilot Program, which launched in 2024 as a creative opportunity to support the Marketing team, Customer Service Committee and more. Beyond these training courses and programs, we also have internal mentorships.

As an advancing bank with more than 500 team members, it is important we focus on supporting the career paths of our team members to help promote from within and stay competitive in the market. These initiatives incentivize team members to pursue long-term employment and work towards advancement. Typically, promotion and transfer opportunities are available after six months. We are proud to offer so much to our team and continue to work towards implementing further resources for development.

4. Tuition Reimbursement Program

At Banterra, we value education and want to help support those goals for our team members. Careers at Banterra include a tuition reimbursement program for bachelor’s degrees after six months of service and master’s degrees for long-term team members. This program reimburses up to $5,250 annually to help cover tuition fees. For specialized certifications, we have a fully paid partnership with Ivy Tech. A degree can be pursued online with flexibility in hours, plus the cost is 100% covered by Banterra.
