What Was The Inspiration Or Motivation In Starting Your Business?

The house itself was our motivation. It was about a year from falling down and we wanted to save it, along with a piece of Paducah's history. In order to claim the historic tax credits, you need an income producing property. It was the perfect house, perfect location, and perfect time to start our bed & breakfast project.

Did You Always Dream Of Becoming An Entrepreneur?

We have always been entrepreneurs in some capacity in addition to our full-time jobs. We never thought about owning a bed and breakfast until this project.

How Has Your Business Grown Over The Years?

Our occupancy rate continues to grow due to referrals, community support and lots of repeat guests who have become like family.

What Have You Done To Achieve Such Growth?

We have completed several projects that help us to increase our monthly rentals. We also have a marketing outreach plan that we have implemented for both an online presence and providing a personal touch to our guests. For example, we have Belle Christmas cards sent to our customers, we email about special events in Paducah, and we provide birthday or anniversary treats when guests arrive for special occasions.

What Is One Piece Of Advice You Would Give To Aspiring Entrepreneurs?

Collaborate with your community partners and make sure your marketing efforts make the most of your money!

How Does Your Community Play A Role In Your Success?

We found that cross promotion with businesses in the community is crucial in our success. We send guests to other businesses and purchase goods from local businesses. We have a wonderful community that includes restaurants, shopping, music, and events!
