‘Tis the season of giving – Spread some holiday cheer and give thanks by showing kindness to others, donating to a charity close to your heart or the power of your voice in your local community. Extend a helping hand through the holiday season and on Giving Tuesday on November 30th, 2021.
About Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is a day of global generosity when we can to come together and make a difference in our communities. Giving Tuesday encourages people to give back in any way they can – whether it’s helping a neighbor, giving to those in need or simply making someone smile.
According to givingtuesday.org, Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea, a day that encourages people to do good. Giving Tuesday was born at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City. Giving Tuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
At Banterra Bank, whether it’s volunteering our time, promoting charities throughout the year in our branches or making financial donations, you can find our ongoing support to needs within our communities.
One of our local communities, Southern Illinois, in conjunction with the global movement of Giving Tuesday is hosting the 2nd Annual #GiveSI Community Day of Giving.
About GiveSI
The Southern Illinois Community Foundation and News 3 have partnered with local sponsors like Banterra in effort to give back to the community.
GiveSI is a 30-hour community day of giving supporting close to 100 nonprofits and growing philanthropy in the 17 southernmost counties of Illinois. Last year, GiveSI raised an astounding $155,000 to directly support Southern Illinoisans.
During this event, News 3 WSIL and SICF will be launching a 30 Hour campaign for non-profits throughout Southern Illinois. Anyone may donate to one or more organizations participating in the event. Donors can give online at GiveSI.org, donate by mail or drop off donations at all Southern Illinois Banterra Bank branches starting on November 29, 2021 at 6 PM through November 30, 2021 at 11:59 PM.
About Southern Illinois Community Foundation
The Southern Illinois Community Foundation is committed to creating an opportunity for donors to participate in local community development efforts to address the changing needs of our community through charitable giving. This will be accomplished by building a regional endowment, designated funds, field of interest funds, donor-advised funds, and undesignated funds in order to enhance the quality of life throughout the Southern Illinois region.
Every act of generosity counts. Join us for GiveSI and donate to your favorite nonprofit. To learn more about Giving Tuesday at givingtuesday.org go to sicf.org to learn more about the 2nd Annual #GiveSI Community Day of Giving.
